Species, collections and test evidence
Search participating collections and inspect the source, banking, availability, germination and viability information attached to each record.
The database
The database shares seed collections information that can be searched in full using the orange button below. If you would like to perform a more targeted search, use the search cards further down the page.
In the database, use filters on any table column to narrow your results, and the column manager to show or hide columns. You can also sort by any column. Click on a record to see its full detail.
Use the table dropdown to move between Species, Seed Accessions, Seed Tests and Collection Events while keeping your search filters.
Summary downloads are subject to the SeedPOD Terms of Use, record-level conditions and a 5,000-record limit. Automated scraping, model training, commercial use and attempts to bypass limits are not permitted without prior agreement.
Choose one search type by clicking on the circle to the left of the option. Enter part of a species name, choose a family, or use both to narrow your results. Then select Search. Choosing a different search card clears your entries.

| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Taxon and identification | Standardisation supports discovery but does not remove uncertainty in the source identification. |
| Source and provenance | Collection locality, population and source type inform—but do not alone decide—restoration suitability. |
| Date and currency | Availability, quantities and test results can change over time. |
| Methods and units | Results are comparable only when the test design and denominator are understood. |
| Rights and restrictions | Licence, provider conditions and sensitive fields determine permitted use. |
| Missing values | Unknown, not supplied, not applicable and restricted are different states. |
